Browns Defensive Line Dominates NFL Rankings After Week 3
CLEVELAND, OH – The Cleveland Browns defensive line has surged to the top of multiple NFL rankings following a dominant Week 3 performance, solidifying their position as a league-leading unit. According to Pro Football Focus (PFF) data released today, the Browns currently hold the top spot in overall defensive line grade (90.6), as well as best pass-rush and run-defense grades.
myles Garrett leads all NFL defenders with a PFF grade of 92.4,while Maliek Collins is fourth league-wide with a grade of 90.8. Undrafted rookie Adin Huntington has also impressed, earning an 87.5 grade in limited snaps. Even Mason Graham, with a grade of 64.2, is contributing at a respectable level.
Garrett also tops the NFL in pass-rush grade at 92.0, closely followed by Collins at 91.5. Huntington’s pass-rush grade is 82.1. Collins’ 22.4% pass-rush win rate leads all interior defenders and is comparable to the levels achieved by Aaron Donald.
The Browns’ run defense has been particularly impactful, limiting opposing running backs to an average of 2.3 yards per carry and -0.2 yards before contact. They have allowed the lowest combined rushing grade (55.5) in the NFL, holding Derrick Henry to just 22 rushing yards in Week 3. Myles Garrett ranks third in the league with an 87.3 run-defense grade. Five Browns defenders currently have run-defense grades of 67.5 or better, and the unit has missed only four tackles against the run all season.
Elsewhere in the league, the Denver Broncos lead the NFL with 81 total quarterback pressures through three weeks, with Nik Bonitto and Jonathan Cooper each recording 17, followed by Zach Allen (14) and jonah Elliss (11). The Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers are tied for the most run stops with 28 each, and 11 tackles for loss or no gain. Denver holds the edge in run-stop percentage, achieving the same production on 13 fewer run snaps. T.J. Watt and Cameron Heyward lead the Steelers with five run stops apiece, while Nik Bonitto, Zach Allen, and Eyioma Uwazurike each have five for the Broncos.
