Budapest – Viktoria Plzeň conceded a late equalizer to Ferencváros, drawing 1-1 ‍in thier opening europa League group‍ stage⁣ match on Thursday.⁢ Teh result⁢ marks the ⁣second consecutive late collapse for the Czech side, following a similar outcome against Bodø/Glimt last week.

Plzeň took the lead after 15 minutes through Rafiu Durosinmi, capitalizing on a strong run and assist from Iraqi‍ defender Merchas Doski. FerencvárosS task was compounded⁤ in the 36th minute when defender⁣ Cebrails Makreckis received a​ second yellow card for a foul on Matěj Vydra, ​forcing the Hungarian‍ team to play with ten men for over half the match.

Despite being ​a man down, Ferencváros increased their pressure after halftime, with coach Robbie Keane making two substitutions at​ the break, including bringing on ‌former Plzeň player,⁤ Cada. Plzeň had opportunities to extend their lead but ⁣were unable⁣ to convert.

The equalizer arrived in⁢ the fourth minute of ⁣added time when Aleksandar Pešič scored from a centered ball into the ⁤penalty area.

The draw ‍leaves Plzeň with one point, mirroring Slavia Prague’s result in⁣ their Champions League‍ opener. Plzeň will⁢ next face Malmö FF at home next Thursday. Malmö lost their opening Europa League match 2-1 to Ludogor.
