PZU Names Bogdan Benczak as New President of the Management Board
Warsaw – The supervisory board of Worldwide Insurance Company, a joint-stock company, has appointed Bogdan Benczak as the new President of the Management Board of PZU SA, effective September 24, 2025. The appointment is contingent upon approval from the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF).
Until KNF approval is granted,Benczak has been entrusted with the duties of the President by the Supervisory Board,to the extent permitted by law. The resolution appointing Benczak is effective immediately and the term will last for three years, beginning September 25, 2025.
Benczak brings extensive experience in the insurance sector, including previous roles within the PZU Group. From 2008-2015,he led the Foreign Operations Office and the PZU Business Advancement Office. he also served as president of UAB PZU Lietuva (2010-2014) and UAB PZU Lietuva Gyvybes Draudimas (2009-2017), and managed AAS Balta as president (2014-2017) while together serving as managing director for foreign operations at PZU SA.
Prior to returning to PZU, Benczak held positions including a board member at AB Lietuvos Draudimas (2015-2017), a member of the board and president of Ergo Insurance SE and Ergo Life insurance SE (2018-2022), and general director at ADB Gjensidige Lietuva (2023-2024). As of February 2025, he was the managing director of corporate affairs within the PZU Group.
Benczak is a graduate of the Faculty of Law at the university of Warsaw, and has completed post-graduate studies at the academy of Economics in Krakow and an MBA program at the University of Gdańsk.
The appointment follows reported dissatisfaction from PZU employees, represented by trade unions, who expressed concerns to the Ministry of State assets regarding the actions of the previous president, as reported by Strefainwestorow.pl. These concerns centered on changes to annual prize principles and critical comments regarding remote work.
