Bluestone Federal Credit Union Announces new Microbranch in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – September 26, 2025 – Bluestone Federal Credit Union will expand its service area with a new microbranch location near 41st Street and Sertoma Avenue, offering a blend of advanced technology and personalized support to its growing membership. The branch,slated to open in spring 2026,represents a shift toward more accessible and convenient banking solutions.

This new location signifies Bluestone’s commitment to meeting members where they are, particularly those west of I-29, and adapting to evolving consumer preferences for financial services. The microbranch model allows the credit union to provide key services without the overhead of a customary full-service branch, ultimately benefiting members through continued value and accessibility.

The smaller-footprint branch will feature interactive atms offering live, two-way chat with member service representatives, alongside traditional 24-hour outdoor ATM access.Staff will also be available during business hours for in-person assistance.

“The microbranch concept allows us to offer our members the services they want and need closest to home and work,” said Alayna Johnson, president of Bluestone. “When we looked at our members’ locations, we saw an prospect to offer services closer to our members west of I-29.”

Reynolds Construction Management is building the branch at 6311 W. 41st St.

Bluestone federal Credit Union, chartered in 1938, currently serves nearly 12,000 members across 43 counties in South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, and Nebraska. Membership is open to individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school within those counties.The credit union provides a thorough range of financial products and services, including savings, checking, lending, credit cards, and investment options.
