Nebraska Volleyball Holds No. 1 Ranking, Texas Gains Top Vote in AVCA Poll
LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Cornhuskers remain atop the AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll, but saw their unanimous hold on the No. 1 ranking broken this week as Texas received the first-place vote. The Huskers (57 points) continue to lead the nation, maintaining their position after a strong start to the season.
The shift in voting reflects the competitive landscape of collegiate volleyball as Nebraska prepares to begin Big ten Conference play. The huskers will face RV Michigan at home on Wednesday at 6 p.m. CDT,followed by a Saturday match against Maryland at 3 p.m. CDT. A challenging road test awaits them on Friday, Oct. 3, at No. 15 Penn State in University Park, Pa.These upcoming contests will be crucial as Nebraska navigates a demanding conference schedule and aims to defend its No. 1 ranking.
