Actors Benjamin Lavernhe and Rebecca Marder Found Romance Through Shared Experiences
Actors benjamin Lavernhe and Rebecca Marder are in a relationship that blossomed from a professional connection forged at the Comédie-Française. The pair, both currently enjoying career successes, initially bonded over their experiences within the prestigious French national theater.
Their connection deepened as they navigated demanding roles in separate biopics – Marder portraying Simone Veil and Lavernhe embodying Father Pierre. They found common ground discussing the challenges of their respective transformations, including Marder’s extensive daily makeup routine and Lavernhe’s vocal work. “It was unlikely to say that she was playing Simone Veil and I Abbé Pierre,” Lavernhe told Le Parisian. “Rebecca also had three hours of makeup every day, and I saw her working her voice, learning to ’something, to integrate and forget it.'”
The couple’s on-screen chemistry extended beyond biographical roles when they played a couple in the 2023 film Great hopes. Marder shared with TV 7 days that having prior experience working together at the Comédie-Française made the experience “a wonderful gift.” Lavernhe expressed a desire for the relationship to continue, stating, “It’s a happy period, and we want it to last!” and emphasizing the supportive dynamic between them: “It’s great to be able to encourage yourself, congratulate yourself and console yourself.”
