Priscilla Presley Denies Feud with Granddaughter Riley Keough Following Estate Dispute
Priscilla Presley has publicly refuted claims of a rift with her granddaughter, riley Keough, amid a legal battle over the estate of Lisa Marie Presley. The denial comes after a deeply personal letter from Keough detailing her distress over the handling of her mother’s affairs following her death in january 2023 became public.
The dispute centers on amendments made to Lisa Marie presley’s trust in 2016, which removed Priscilla Presley and a former business manager as trustees, replacing them with Keough and her brother, Benjamin Keough (who died in 2020). keough, in the letter, expressed being “incredibly heartbroken” by being contacted about the will less than 24 hours after her mother’s passing and receiving legal correspondence before lisa Marie was even buried. She also lamented the situation given her years-long efforts to mend the relationship between her mother and grandmother.
Both Presley and Keough released a joint statement to PEOPLE earlier this month addressing allegations made by Brigitte Kruse, a lawyer involved in the case. “We are aware of the latest allegations from Brigitte Kruse. These claims are not only untrue but also deeply hurtful,” the statement read. “Our family is, and always has been, united in love and respect for one another.”
The statement continued, emphasizing their shared goals: “Our shared priority remains honoring Lisa Marie’s memory and protecting Elvis’ legacy with dignity. we will not allow outside voices to divide us or to diminish the strength of our bond as a family.”
The legal proceedings are ongoing, but the joint statement signals a desire to resolve the matter privately and maintain family unity.
