Ryanair is phasing out physical boarding passes, transitioning to digital-only options for all passengers beginning October 26. The airline announced the change alongside an expansion of its winter flight schedule, streamlining the boarding process and reducing reliance on paper tickets.
The move impacts all Ryanair travelers, eliminating the option to check-in with a physical boarding pass and requiring passengers to use the Ryanair app, a mobile boarding pass, or online check-in with digital verification. This shift coincides with the launch of new routes, including flights from Birmingham to Rome Ciampino operating Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Additional connections will be added from Stansted to Murcia (four weekly flights), to trapani (two flights), to Lübeck and Münster (three flights each), and from London Luton to breslavia (one service). The airline’s decision reflects a broader industry trend toward digitalization and aims to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
