New Hampshire Wedding Shooter yelled ‘Free Palestine’ During Attack, Witness Says
NASHUA, N.H. – A gunman opened fire at a New Hampshire country club wedding Saturday, killing one person and wounding several others before being taken into custody, authorities said. A witness reported the shooter yelled “Free Palestine” during the attack, prompting an inquiry into a potential motive.
The shooting occurred at the New Hampshire country Club in Nashua around 6:30 p.m. local time, disrupting a wedding celebration. The victim has been identified as 60-year-old Mark Vinacco of Manchester, New Hampshire. Several others were injured, and investigators are continuing to gather information about the circumstances surrounding the shooting and the shooter’s intent. The incident has shaken the community and raised questions about security at private events, as well as the potential for politically motivated violence.
Authorities have identified the suspect as Dakota Robichaw, 33, of Manchester. He is facing charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder. New hampshire Senior Assistant Attorney General Peter Hinckley stated investigators are still working to determine a motive.
Witnesses at the scene reported hearing the shooter shout “Free Palestine” during the attack, according to law enforcement officials. This claim is currently under investigation as authorities explore all possible angles.
An American Red Cross Disaster Relief van was dispatched to a nearby hotel serving as a reunification center for those affected by the shooting.
Robichaw is expected to be arraigned Monday at the Ninth Circuit Court in Nashua.
