Sporting CP Renew Hope for Yeremay Hernández transfer in January Window
LISBON, Portugal – Sporting CP remains actively pursuing Deportivo La Coruña winger Yeremay Hernández, with renewed optimism surrounding a potential transfer in the January window. Despite a previous bid rejection, Sporting believes a deal is possible if hernández remains open to a move, according to sources close to the player.
Sporting identified Hernández as a priority target throughout the summer transfer window and continues to view him as the ideal solution for their left-wing position. Unlike previous reports, sources indicate Hernández has not committed to staying at Deportivo should they continue their push for promotion to La Liga 2 - currently leading the league. The player continues to consider Sporting’s proposal, having previously turned down offers from Italian clubs Napoli and Roma, and also German side Borussia Dortmund.
In the summer, Sporting submitted a formal offer of €25 million plus €5 million in bonuses, which Deportivo rejected. While a new attempt in January is expected to be challenging, the primary obstacle lies with Deportivo, backed by Abanca, and their ambition to climb to La Liga, not with Hernández himself.
Sporting continues to prioritize adding a left-sided winger and Hernández remains their most desired target.
