Fever Face Aces in WNBA Semifinals After Upsetting Dream
LAS VEGAS – The Indiana Fever will travel to Las Vegas to face the Aces in Game 1 of the WNBA Semifinals on Sunday,September 21,at 3:00 p.m. ET at Michelob Ultra Arena. The game will be broadcast on ABC and carried on 93.1 WIBC, with John Nolan and Bria Goss calling the action.
The Fever advanced to the Semifinals after a dramatic first-round victory over the third-seeded Atlanta Dream, winning the final two games of the series. Indiana rallied from a five-point deficit in the final 2:05 to secure an 87-85 win in Atlanta on Thursday, clinching the series.
All-Stars Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston led the Fever in the first round.Mitchell averaged 23.3 points per game, highlighted by a 24-point performance in Game 3. boston contributed 12.3 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game, capping off Game 3 with 14 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists.
Mitchell was recently named a finalist for the 2025 WNBA MVP award. She will compete against Aces center A’ja Wilson, also a finalist, who is seeking her fourth MVP award. Wilson averaged 23.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks during the regular season and posted 29.3 points per game in the Aces’ first-round series against Seattle,including a 38-point outing in game 3.
The aces, who have reached the Semifinals for the seventh consecutive year, are coming off a hard-fought first-round series against the Seattle Storm. Las Vegas closed the regular season on a 16-game winning streak and won back-to-back WNBA championships in 2022 and 2023.
Despite facing adversity throughout the season with five season-ending injuries, the Fever demonstrated resilience by securing a playoff berth and advancing to the Semifinals.
