Child Yassin Case: Forensic Report & Appeal Hearing in Damanhour

Damanhour, ‌Egypt – The chief ⁢forensic ⁢physician ‌of the Damanhur forensic ⁢medicine‍ department appeared before the Damanhour Criminal ⁢Court ⁢today to ‍present findings related to the case of child ⁣Yassin, a victim ⁤of assault at a private school. The presentation centers‍ on the forensic report detailing the extent of the injuries sustained by the child.

The court ⁤is ⁤currently hearing⁤ appeal sessions​ following an April 30th ruling by the Damanhour Criminal Court which sentenced KJA, a 79-year-old financial observer, to life⁣ imprisonment for indecent⁢ assault against Yassin. Case number 33773​ of 2024, linked to total crimes record number‍ 1946 for 2024 in central ⁤Damanhur, is⁤ under review. Today’s session ​was convened, in part,⁢ to allow for thorough examination of⁣ the​ forensic ‍evidence⁢ and witness⁢ statements gathered by the ‍supreme State Security ​Prosecution. The appeal session was initially postponed to September ‌20th to accommodate the chief forensic physician’s availability. ​

Yassin, the child victim, attended the Etay El-Baroud ⁤Court session wearing a Spider-Man costume, a symbolic gesture of strength according⁤ to observers. His mother expressed hope for his ‌future,stating,”Today is the first day‍ of ‍study,” despite the trauma he has endured. The court, lead by ⁣Counselor Ashraf ⁢Ayyad, will continue to review the​ case and determine⁤ whether to uphold the‍ original sentence.
