Helena businesses may see clean energy loans through C-PACE

by Priya Shah – Business Editor

St. ⁤Helena businesses could soon access financing for clean energy ⁣upgrades through the Commercial Property Assessed Clean ⁤Energy (C-PACE) program, following recent developments enabling its implementation. The program allows property owners to finance qualifying energy efficiency and renewable energy projects with no⁣ upfront‍ costs, repaid through an assessment on their property tax bill. C-PACE is designed ⁣to overcome common barriers ‌to energy efficiency investments, such as limited access ⁤to ‌capital and complex financing structures. While details specific to St. Helena’s implementation are still being finalized,C-PACE‍ programs nationally have ‍supported projects like solar panel installations,HVAC system upgrades, and energy-efficient lighting. The initiative aims to stimulate ‍economic growth, create jobs, and reduce carbon emissions on the island.Further information regarding ⁤eligible projects and application processes will be released by local authorities in the coming⁣ weeks.
