Half 2552 Update: Thailand’s Economic Stimulus & Tax Benefits

“Half Each” Project Revived with ⁤Potential Boosts for Taxpayers and Welfare Card Holders

The⁢ Thai⁤ goverment is preparing to relaunch a version of the popular “Half Each” spending stimulus programme, aiming to quickly boost the economy. The ‍Ministry of Finance has ⁢indicated readiness to proceed‌ as soon as a clear policy framework is established, citing budget ⁣availability and favorable economic ⁣conditions.

the⁤ new iteration, potentially branded “Half Each 2562” (or‌ “Half Each Upgrade”/”Half Plus”), will likely offer a 50/50 ‌cost-sharing arrangement for all Thai citizens. However, individuals ⁤registered⁢ in the tax system‍ – even those with no tax liability – may receive a higher subsidy rate, potentially ‍60/40. Officials suggest ⁣the program will include ⁣new features to enhance⁢ its‌ appeal.‍ Daily ‌spending limits and ⁣the overall project budget are still under discussion.

Recent announcements suggest additional benefits are being⁣ considered. ‍Siripong‌ Angkasakulkiat, Deputy ‌Chief of the Pride Thai ⁤Party, revealed plans to‍ supplement existing state welfare card benefits. For example, individuals receiving 300 ‍baht ⁢through their welfare card could see an additional 700-1,000 baht added by the ⁣government, ensuring their support is comparable ⁢to that received by‌ the general public.

Furthermore, taxpayers ‌may be eligible for a larger individual subsidy⁣ of 1,200 ⁣baht, instead of the⁢ proposed⁢ 1,000 baht. This increased benefit for taxpayers is ⁣considered a likely component of the final⁤ policy, currently under review ⁤for ‍practical implementation. ‍

Further⁤ updates on the “Half Each”⁢ project will be ⁤reported as they become available.
