Macedonian National Theater Launches “Acting Europe – Theatre Without Borders” Festival in Kjustendil
Kjustendil, Bulgaria – the Macedonian National Theatre (MNT) inaugurated the inaugural “Acting Europe – Theatre without Borders” festival today, September 19, 2024, in Kjustendil, Bulgaria, marking a meaningful step toward strengthened cultural exchange between Balkan nations. The festival aims too cultivate new partnerships and collaborative opportunities within the performing arts.
This new festival arrives at a pivotal moment for cross-border artistic initiatives, fostering dialog and understanding through theatrical performance. Supported by the European Union, the event seeks to break down barriers and promote a shared European identity, impacting artists and audiences across Bulgaria and North Macedonia. The festival’s success will pave the way for future editions and perhaps inspire similar cultural collaborations throughout the region.
The festival is held under the patronage of the European Union, with support from the European Commission Depiction in Bulgaria, the Municipality of Kjustendil, and the Union of Artists in Bulgaria.
The MNT’s participation is facilitated by the Ministry of Local Self-Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, operating within the framework of the cross-border cooperation program between North Macedonia and Bulgaria. This program receives funding from the European Union through the integrated progress of border regions.
