CHARLESTON, S.C. – Teh College of charleston baseball team will renew its fall rivalry with the university of South carolina at Joseph P.Riley, Jr. Park on November 6th. The matchup offers a preview of Lowcountry baseball and a chance for both programs to build momentum heading into the offseason.
Last year’s fall contest drew nearly 3,500 fans to The Joe, demonstrating the strong regional interest in this in-state clash. This year’s game will again be hosted by the Charleston RiverDogs, with the Cougars taking the third base dugout and the Gamecocks occupying the first base side. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m.
“Our players are excited to be playing South Carolina again this fall at The Joe,” said Charleston head coach Chad Holbrook. “Last year proved to be an remarkable atmosphere, showcasing some of the best of college baseball. I’m thankful for Coach mainieri to bring his team down to Charleston in November. Cougar and Gamecock fans will make this another night to remember for baseball in the Lowcountry!”
