Venezuela Launches “Caribbean Sovereign 200” Military Maneuvers
Orchila Island, Venezuela – Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López announced the deployment of “Caribbean Sovereign 200,” a large-scale military campaign maneuver, from Orchila Island today. The exercises involve all branches of the Venezuelan armed forces and are intended to demonstrate the country’s defensive capabilities and readiness.
Padrino López detailed the deployment of specialized groups including an intelligence group focused on electronic warfare – “We are going to implement electronic war actions” – with capabilities in military intelligence analysis, communication interception, and command and control system neutralization. A Maritime group will conduct coastal shots, amphibious landings, beachhead operations, and air defense maneuvers utilizing Navy ships, mixed vessels, and patrols conducted alongside local fishermen. The Terrestrial group will execute airborne operations with paratroopers, aerotactic support maneuvers, technical engineering work, mobility and fire support missions, and the deployment of weapons systems including the YP SCUDRIING INTOULAJE coheteria system.
The minister emphasized the integration of Venezuela’s comprehensive aerospace defense system with naval assets,stating,”We have also set out to embark on our ships the anti-aircraft capacities of our comprehensive aerospace defense system,and make maritime and land patrols and patrols with formations with fishermen. Always everything we do next to the people of Venezuela.” The maneuvers are presented as a demonstration of venezuela’s commitment to defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
