Derrick White Predicts Jaylen Brown Will Make All-NBA First Team
BOSTON – Boston Celtics guard Derrick White believes teammate Jaylen Brown is poised to achieve a career milestone,predicting the star forward will earn a spot on the 2025-26 All-NBA First Team.White made the prediction on his podcast, “White Noise,” on September 3, naming Brown alongside Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as potential First Team selections.
Brown has previously been recognized for his performance, earning a selection to the 2022-23 All-NBA Second Team. Tho, he has yet to be named to the First team, a feat intricate by the consistent All-NBA First Team selections of teammate Jayson Tatum over the past four years – a situation where teammates frequently enough find it difficult to both achieve the honor in the same season.
This season presents a unique possibility for Brown.Tatum is expected to miss the majority, if not all, of the season due to a torn Achilles tendon, thrusting Brown into the role of the team’s primary scoring option. White believes this increased duty will allow Brown to elevate his statistics and strengthen his case for the All-NBA First Team.
“I mean, probably (Nikola) Jokic, Giannis (Antetokounmpo), that’s probably the obvious ones,” White said, via Hardwood Houdini. “Luka Doncic, Shai (Gilgeous-Alexander) and Jaylen brown.”
