Stanford Medicine Recognized as Top Health System by Vizient

Stanford Medicine Nationally recognized for Excellence in Patient Care

Stanford Health Care and the Stanford School of Medicine have received top rankings from Vizient, a national healthcare performance ‌betterment institution, solidifying their commitment to high-quality patient⁤ care. This year’s results, released recently, highlight remarkable performance in both inpatient and outpatient services, and also environmental sustainability.

Stanford Health Care achieved a five-star rating in the Vizient Quality and Accountability Study for comprehensive academic medical centers, ⁣ranking fifth among 118 peer institutions in inpatient care. The annual study, now in it’s 19th year, assessed 1,220 hospitals across six key domains: ⁤safety,​ mortality, effectiveness, efficiency, patient centeredness, and variation in care.

The organization also ‍excelled in outpatient care, ranking sixth out of 66 institutions​ in its cohort, based on access ⁢to care, efficiency, quality, continuum of care, and equity.

For the first time,Stanford⁣ Health Care was ⁣honored with Vizient’s Environmental Sustainability Excellence award,recognizing its ‌dedication ⁤to responsible purchasing,carbon emission ⁤reduction,and climate resilience.

Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley also⁤ earned a five-star inpatient performer ranking among complex care medical centers,placing 17th out ⁤of 208​ institutions -‍ a repeat ⁤achievement from the ⁣previous year.
