ukraine Claims Russian Military Losses surpass 1.1 Million
Kyiv, Ukraine - Ukraine’s military reported Wednesday that Russia‘s losses since the full-scale invasion began in early 2022 have reached approximately 1,097,450 personnel. if current rates hold, the number is projected to exceed 1.1 million later this week, according to Ukrainian authorities. The daily toll reported Wednesday was 1,020 Russian soldiers.
The figures, which include both deaths and severe injuries rendering soldiers unable to return to combat, cannot be independently verified. however, assessments by Western experts have previously indicated that at least hundreds of thousands of Russian troops have been killed or wounded.
The escalating casualty count comes amid criticism leveled at Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has been accused of employing a war strategy that results in mass casualties among young soldiers. The Russian government maintains that Ukraine has suffered comparable losses.
