Raiders Defeat North Allegheny in Sectional Clash
HARMONY, PA – North Allegheny’s boys’ soccer team suffered a 3-1 road loss to Seneca Valley Tuesday night, impacting their section standings. The defeat drops the Tigers to 5-3-2 overall and 2-1-1 in section play, as they continue to navigate a competitive season with playoff implications looming.
The loss highlights the challenges facing North Allegheny as they vie for a top spot in the section. This result underscores the importance of their upcoming home match against Fox Chapel on Thursday,where they’ll aim to rebound and strengthen their position in the league.
Seneca Valley took an early lead with a penalty kick in the sixth minute, scored by senior Owen Eastgate, following a north Allegheny handball. The Raiders extended their advantage in the 27th minute when junior Tomis Spudic converted a corner kick opportunity.
The second half saw Seneca Valley further solidify their lead with a goal from junior Jacob Prex, assisted by senior Michael Pokrzywinski, in the 42nd minute. North Allegheny responded swiftly, with senior Leo Yu assisting junior Francis Randiga for a goal just 22 seconds later.
Despite the late goal, North Allegheny couldn’t overcome the deficit. Senior goalkeeper xavier Zyskowski recorded four saves for the Tigers.
