[WORLD-TODAY-NEWS.COM] – Formula 1 legend lewis Hamilton has once again spoken out about the devastating situation in Gaza, describing the ongoing conflict as a “grand genocide” and urging the world to act.The seven-time world champion’s comments come as the death toll in Gaza continues to mount, with over 64,964 Palestinians reported martyred and 165,312 injured since October 7,2023,according to reports.
Speaking on Tuesday,Hamilton,40,painted a grim picture of the escalating crisis. “The situation in Gaza is getting worse day after day,” he stated.”In the past two years, more than 10% of the population – including tens of thousands of children - has been killed or wounded, and this number is constantly increasing.”
He highlighted the recent Israeli incursion into gaza City, which has displaced hundreds of thousands and overwhelmed already strained hospitals. The region is also facing widespread famine, with 428 Palestinians, including 146 children, having died from starvation.
Hamilton directly referenced a recent United Nations examination committee report, stating, “They described what is happening in Gaza as a genocide, and as human beings, we cannot stand idly by and let this continue to happen.”
The Ferrari driver emphasized the importance of providing aid to those affected. “It is indeed difficult not to feel unable to face all these tragedies, but we cannot stand idly by,” he said.”There are some splendid organizations that do a great job to help the people of Palestine, and they need money to be able to do so.”
This is not the first time Hamilton has publicly expressed his support for the Palestinian people. He previously spoke out about the conflict, stating his heart broke for the innocent lives lost.
