Lima’s Grau Avenue to Fully close for Repairs Starting Monday
LIMA, Peru – The Municipality of lima will fully close Grau Avenue beginning Monday, February 15, to facilitate extensive repair work including concrete paving, improvements to pedestrian crossings, and leveling. The closure impacts both the main thoroughfare and its auxiliary roads.
This closure adds to an existing partial closure already in effect between Lucanian jirón and Avenida Aviation, where traffic is currently limited to auxiliary paths. The complete shutdown of Grau Avenue is expected to substantially impact traffic flow in the central district of Lima, affecting commuters and businesses alike.
Deviation Plans:
* El Agustino to Lima: Drivers should divert through Jirones Junín and Lucanas to rejoin Grau Avenue.
* Lima to El Agustino: Utilize Jirones Cangallo, Santa Rosa, and Junín to access Grau Avenue.
* Victory to Lima: from Nicolás ayllón Avenue, continue on José de la Riva Agüero Avenue, Cáceres Street, and Jirones Alfonso Ugarte, Junín, and Lucanas to reach Grau Avenue. Alternatively,from Avenida Aviation,use the auxiliary route of Grau Avenue.
* Lima to Victory: Continue on the auxiliary route of Grau Avenue,turning onto Jirones Antonio Bazo and Antonio Raimondi to connect with Avenida Aviation.
