Emporia Teens to Benefit from Friday’s “Kids Night Out” fundraiser
Emporia families can enjoy a fun evening this Friday while supporting a vital local resource as Leap of Faith Martial Arts School hosts its ”Kids Night out” event to benefit the Salvation Army. The event, open to children ages 6-17, combines Nerf battles with a fundraising drive for local teenagers in need.
The “Kids Night Out” event offers a low-cost, engaging activity for children while directly supporting the salvation Army’s services, including its critical food pantry. Donations sought are geared towards teenagers, with past gifts including gift cards and headphones, but any item a teen would appreciate is welcome. Leap of Faith emphasizes community service as a core value, and this event underscores their commitment to Emporia.
“A big piece of this fundraiser, or giftraiser as I describe it, is the support to the Salvation Army in town,” said loi Douglas of Leap of Faith Martial Arts school. “community service is a strong value of our school.”
Salvation Army Captain Mylie Hadden highlighted the essential role of community support. “Without the community support for the Salvation Army and their services, including our food pantry, none of the work we do would be possible,” Hadden stated. “Support from businesses like Leap of Faith is also vital to our success in serving Emporia.”
