Iowa College Foundation Appoints Tara Connolly as President-Elect

Tara K. Connolly has been appointed president-elect of the Iowa College Foundation (ICF), the organization announced today. Connolly will partner wiht current ICF President Ed finn too ensure a seamless transition of leadership and continue the Foundation’s mission of supporting Iowa’s autonomous, nonprofit colleges and universities.Founded in 1952, the ICF represents 22 institutions and plays a critical role in securing the future of higher education access within the state. Connolly’s appointment comes at a time when private colleges are navigating evolving enrollment landscapes and increasing financial pressures. Her leadership will focus on expanding the ICF’s impact and bolstering support for Iowa students.

Connolly brings over two decades of experience in higher education and philanthropy to the role. She most recently served as executive director of the Des Moines Area Community College Foundation, where she lead fundraising, donor relations, and scholarship initiatives. Prior to that, she was executive director of growth for the MercyOne Des Moines Foundation.

“I look forward to working with our Board of Governors and donors to expand ICF’s impact and ensure a strong future for students and Iowa,” Connolly stated. “Investing in students. Preserving choice in higher education. strengthening Iowa.That’s what this work is all about.”
