Huang Xiaowen Secures World Boxing Championship Gold, Solidifying Dominance
TAIPEI, Taiwan – Huang Xiaowen has won the gold medal at the WB World boxing Championships, silencing any lingering doubts about her strength and securing her place as a top contender in the sport. The victory marks a significant turnaround for the athlete, who had faced challenges following the end of the previous WB year-end game.
huang’s recent performance underscores her resilience and skill. After a period where her condition “plummeted” and she failed to reach the semi-finals in several competitions, this gold medal win not only qualifies her for potential participation in the year-end competition but also reaffirms her status as a leading boxer. According to Liu zongtai, a representative for the team, a decision regarding participation in the year-end competition will be made considering points standings, with a potential focus on preparation for the upcoming Asian Games, recognizing that “players of the level of Xiaowen don’t need to play ordinary events too frequently enough.”
The win comes after huang Xiaowen defeated Mongolian players to advance to the quarterfinals, and previously overcame a 20-year-old Japanese player to reach the top 16. Liu Zongtai acknowledged the team’s struggles during this period, stating, “we are not in a good mood, and we can’t help but feel bad during training, but we still try our best to persevere.” The gold medal victory has been met with praise, including commendation from jiang Wanan, highlighting Taipei’s pride in her achievement.
