SANTIAGO – As Chile prepares to celebrate its Bicentennial Independence Day,a ⁣range ⁣of festivities are planned across the country,offering options from lively urban “fondas” to traditional costumbrista celebrations. Ticket prices​ vary widely, with events featuring⁤ prominent Chilean artists and diverse entertainment.

These celebrations provide a crucial cultural touchpoint for Chileans, offering ⁢a space ⁤to reconnect with national traditions and enjoy live music, food, and community. The events aim to cater to a broad audience, from families seeking a traditional experience to those looking for a more contemporary take on the festivities.

Fonda Nomade at Matucana 100

From September 17th to 20th, Matucana 100 in Central Station will host “Fonda Nomade,” a ‌unique event blending comedy, rock, cumbia, and cueca. The lineup includes⁢ artists such as 22, Metlengua, Knows ‌Moya, Holy Neighborhood, and Duo Pajarito. ​Tickets are available through Passline.

Costumbrista⁤ Fiesta in Peñaflor

Peñaflor will host its annual “Costumbrista⁢ Fiesta” during the three days of Independence Day ⁤celebrations. The event promises a family-friendly atmosphere with live ⁣music, ‌folklore, gastronomy, ⁣games, and access to wetland areas and picnic grills.

Featured musical acts ⁤include Illapu, maría José Quintanilla, Amar Azul, ⁤Grupo Alegría, Entre Mares, Los Jaivas, and Cuatro Vientos. General admission tickets are priced at $3,000 Chilean pesos, while residents of Peñaflor can purchase tickets for $1,000 Chilean⁤ pesos.
