Ghost of Tsushima Fans: Sapporo Beer Collaboration Offers In-Game Reward
Tokyo,Japan – Fans anticipating the 2025 release of Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Tsushima sequel, now known as ghost of Yotei, have a new reason to raise a glass. Japanese beer brand Sapporo is partnering with Sony to release limited-edition ghost of Yotei-themed beer packaging, offering players an exclusive in-game item.
The collaboration, announced in recent days, features standard Sapporo beer sold in specially designed packaging. while currently slated for distribution only in Japan and the United States, each pack will include a QR code.Scanning this code and linking a playstation account will unlock the “Amuleto di Hokkaidokusei” (Hokkaidokusei Amulet) for use within the game.
According to player.it, the amulet features the sapporo beer logo and provides a minor in-game benefit: “a small possibility of not consuming distance weapons ammunition if equipped.”
The partnership also carries a subtle historical nod. Beer was reportedly introduced to Japan by Europeans during the 17th century, coinciding with the arrival of firearms. Ghost of Yotei is set in 1603, making the collaboration a (nearly) historically accurate detail, as noted by sources cited in the original report.
This isn’t the first time video games have crossed over with the beverage industry. Borderlands 4 recently collaborated with American beer brand Voodoo Ranger, offering a chance to win a free copy of the game.
Ghost of Yotei is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 on October 2, 2025.
