Slavia Prague Defeats Karviná 3-1, Moves to Top of Chance League
Prague, Czech Republic – Slavia Prague secured a 3-1 victory over Karviná at home on Saturday, advancing to the top of the Chance League table in the eighth round of competition. Goals from Mojmír Chytil, and a brace from Lukáš Vorlický propelled Slavia to their sixth win in the last six matches.
Slavia took the lead in the 19th minute when Mojmír Chytil scored off an assist from Jakub Lapeš and a cross from Daiki Hashioca. Karviná responded before halftime with a goal from Rok Štorman on a direct free kick in added time.
The second half saw Lukáš Vorlický score his first goal for Slavia in the 67th minute, capitalizing on an aggressive run. He then added a second goal in stoppage time, taking advantage of a power play following a red card issued to Karviná’s sahmou Camary for a foul in the 86th minute.
Earlier in the match, Karviná had opportunities to equalize, including a chance for Abdallah Gning, which was saved by Slavia goalkeeper Jindřich Staněk. Lapeš also had a chance for Karviná in the first half, but was denied by Štěpán Chaloupek. David Doudera hit the post for Slavia in the 76th minute.
Slavia will next compete in the Champions League against Bodö/Glimt on Wednesday, september 17th, before traveling to Liberec on Sunday. Karviná will host jablonec on Saturday, September 13th.
