Rīga, Latvia – Internationally acclaimed vocalist sheen Styles will perform a concert honoring Latvian composer Raimonds Pauls shortly after his 90th birthday on January 24th at the VEF Culture Palace. The program, featuring Pauls’ compositions arranged in English by songwriter Gordon Pogoda, builds upon a preview performance at the “Rīgas Ritmi” festival this summer.
Organizers plan to record the concert, marking a special tribute to the Maestro’s extensive career.Styles, known for her versatility spanning jazz, gospel, soul, and folk, has appeared in productions like ”The Sopranos” and “The Penguin,” and her vocals have been featured in films including ”Hairspray” and “In Heights.” She has collaborated with artists such as Moby, kelly Clarkson, and Snarky Puppy, and has performed as a soloist with over 40 US symphonic orchestras.
“If you have to get some gifts on the anniversary, this one might be the most lovely,” Pauls stated.
