Móstoles Kicks Off Festivities Honoring Our Lady of the Saints and San Simón de Rojas
Móstoles officially began its annual festivities dedicated to Our Lady of the Saints and San Simón de Rojas-events recognized as being of regional tourist interest since 2010-with a proclamation delivered by David Villa and the chupinazo at 8:30 PM from the Plaza de España. The party was preceded by a special broadcast from Today Madrid West in the Pradillo Square.
Mayor Manuel Bautista highlighted the honour of having Villa as the town’s preacher, notably as Móstoles has been named European Sports City 2026. He also emphasized security as a primary concern during the festivities, stating, “The one who has gone all a year, dose not guarantee that in the next one things will not happen. Being the third parties what you have is a well of experience of previous ones that helps you know what something happens if something happens. In addition, the joy and the illusion that people have.”
The Today Madrid West program featured interviews with Juan Miguel López, director of the Móstoles youth band, who said, “We are preparing throughout the year, today and tomorrow are two very special days.” Members of the band,Maximum and Tamara, performed live on trumpets.Representatives from the Peñas de Móstoles Federation, who will unveil the scarf box, stated their commitment to creating new experiences for residents, emphasizing that the festivities “are parties that are from everyone and for the entire city of Móstoles.”
