CHICAGO– The Kenneth C. griffin Department of Economics at the University of Chicago has released it’s graduation deadlines for the 2024-2026 academic years, outlining key dates for students pursuing a Master of Arts in Economics degree.
Fall Quarter 2024 (for march Graduation): All prior quarter grades are due to the Office of the Registrar by November 21. The Application for a Degree must be completed and submitted electronically via my.uchicago.edu by January 9. The final day to withdraw from the graduation list without incurring a $65 penalty fee is February 6. Final MA theses are due to the Independent Project (IP) advisor and primary reader by February 13, with evaluation forms from the reader and/or IP due to Student Affairs administrator emma Rubenstein at emrubenstein@uchicago.edu by february 27. Prior quarter grades are again due to the Office of the Registrar on February 27. Degrees will be conferred on March 14.Winter Quarter 2025 (for June Graduation): The Application for a Degree is due electronically on my.uchicago.edu by March 28 (with a final withdrawal date of April 24 to avoid the $65 penalty). The latest date to submit the final thesis to the IP advisor and primary reader/preceptor is May 1. Thesis evaluation forms are due to Emma Rubenstein at emrubenstein@uchicago.edu by May 15. All prior and current quarter grades are due to the Office of the Registrar by May 15 and May 31, respectively.Degrees will be conferred on June 6, coinciding with the Annual Convocation.
Summer Quarter 2026 (for august Graduation): The Application for a Degree is due electronically on my.uchicago.edu by June 20.The final day to withdraw from the graduation list without a $65 penalty is July 17. Final theses are due to the primary reader/preceptor by july 24. Thesis evaluation forms are due to Emma Rubenstein at emrubenstein@uchicago.edu by August 7. All prior quarter grades are due to the Office of the Registrar on August 7. Degrees will be conferred on August 21, followed by a Summer Degree Celebration (date TBD).
