PROVO, Utah - BYU men’s basketball will be featured on ESPN’s Big Monday on February 2, 2026, as the Cougars travel to Tucson to face Arizona. The game marks a key matchup in BYU’s second season under Head Coach Kevin Young and provides a national stage for a program currently ranked in the Top 25 by CBS Sports (No. 3), ESPN (No. 6), and Blue Ribbon (No.16).The contest against Arizona is one of several highlighted games on BYU’s 2025-26 schedule released by the athletic department. Other notable matchups include Kansas at Texas Tech on February 5, 2026, Arizona at Kansas on February 9, 2026, Houston at Iowa State on February 16, 2026, Houston at Kansas on February 23, 2026, and Iowa State at Arizona on March 2, 2026. BYU finished 26-10 overall and 14-6 in Big 12 play last season, tying for third in the conference after being predicted to finish ninth.
Returning for his senior season is First Team All-Big 12 performer Richie Saunders,who averaged 22.0 points during BYU’s Sweet 16 run,shooting 59.5 percent from the field, 41.7 percent from three-point range, and 100.0 percent from the free-throw line in the NCAA Tournament. He will be joined by highly-touted recruit AJ Dybantsa, named MVP of the FIBA U19 World Cup, and transfers Robert Wright III (from Baylor), Kennard davis Jr., Nate Pickens, and Tyler Mrus. Wright III was recognized as the eighth-best transfer by ESPN and was a member of the Big 12 freshman team.
