Detroit Native Terry Crews‘ Golden Buzzer Propels Michigan Dance Group to ‘America’s Got Talent’ Semifinals
A Michigan-based dance group captivated judges and audiences alike on Tuesday night’s “America’s Got Talent,” securing a spot in the semifinals after receiving a Golden Buzzer from host and Detroit native Terry Crews during their initial audition in June.The quartet’s energetic performance to Chaka Khan’s “I Feel for You” earned rave reviews from the judging panel, solidifying their position as a fan favorite.
The group,comprised of four longtime friends,first connected as high school students in 1980,winning a talent show that year. They hadn’t performed together publicly since a wedding in 1989 untill their accomplished “AGT” audition. Their joyful stage presence and decades-long bond resonated with judges and viewers,highlighting the show’s 20th season’s celebration of enduring talent and camaraderie.
“You guys are just pure joy,” judge Howie Mandel said following their latest performance. “I imagine everybody in America is just smiling; just a good feeling that makes me proud to be a part of ‘AGT’s’ 20th season.”
Mel B, giving them a standing ovation, added, “Let me tell you, old school never fails. You killed it up there.You four are brilliant.” Simon Cowell echoed the sentiment, stating, “I think we all love you. It’s how you make us feel. You obviously are talented, but it is your fun, your friendship, the fact that you kept doing it. This is everything I love about a great ‘AGT’ act. One of my favorite acts tonight.”
Tonight marked the final round of quarterfinal performances, with four additional acts advancing.Results will be announced tomorrow night. Voting remains open until 7:00 a.m. ET, 4:00 a.m. PT.
