LONDON – Actor Mark Bonnar, known for roles in Blackadder and Napoleon, has described the “mad” experience of being part of a WhatsApp group with fellow contestants from the BBC’s Celebrity Traitors, including Stephen Fry and Jonathan Ross. The revelation comes from a recent interview with the Times, offering a glimpse into the camaraderie forged during the intense reality competition.

He specifically mentioned enjoying conversations with Jonathan Ross about the band nirvana and noted Stephen Fry’s long-standing presence in his life, having grown up watching Blackadder. The actor emphasized the immersive nature of the show, explaining that contestants were cut off from outside communication, leading to a heightened focus on the game itself. The Celebrity Traitors whatsapp group isn’t the only notable connection Bonnar maintains after projects conclude. He shared stories of dinners with Woody Harrelson and his wife while filming last Breath in Malta, and developing a close rapport with Joaquin Phoenix during the production of Napoleon. Bonnar, who met his wife Lucy on a touring production of Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard over 21 years ago, attributes his ability to maintain these relationships to a shared understanding with fellow actors and a commitment to honesty and communication.
