Herman Brusselmans Announces Return to Driving After Decades of Abstinence
Brussels, Belgium – Controversial Flemish author Herman Brusselmans, known for his provocative writing and outspoken personality, has revealed he is onc again behind the wheel after a 30-year hiatus. The author, who ceased driving in 1993 following a period of alcohol abuse, recently purchased a new vehicle.
Brusselmans rose to prominence in the 1980s as an enfant terrible of Flemish literature, gaining a reputation for his darkly humorous and often explicit works. His books frequently explore themes of human misery and societal critique, delivered through an uncompromising and unfiltered style.
in a recent column, Brusselmans recounted his past struggles wiht alcohol. “I was alcoholic in the early 90s and with the Toyota Celica of my first wife I continuously rode from one wall against the other,” he wrote. “Then I decided wisely to stop driving.”
However, the author now intends to use his new car to travel with his fourth wife and son, planning trips to amusement parks such as Efteling, Family Park Harry Malter, Plopsaland, and Paria Dazia. “After all those many years, I decided to purchase a new car, and in this way with my fourth and final wife and our son to go everywhere, in order to give our favorite a lot of entertainment,” Brusselmans stated. The announcement has sparked concern among some, given his history, leading to speculation about a potential “new danger on the road.”
