Men’s Soccer: Missouri S&T Draws Kentucky Wesleyan

OWENSBORO, Ky.Missouri S&T ‍men’s soccer secured a 2-2 ⁣draw against Kentucky ⁢Wesleyan in ‌it’s first road‍ contest of the season Sunday at ​Panther Field. The result ⁤moves the Miners to 1-0-1⁢ on the year, while Kentucky Wesleyan is now 0-0-2.

The match‍ saw lead ⁢changes and a flurry​ of scoring ⁤chances as both teams‌ battled for their first win⁢ of the season. This tie‌ comes early in the ‌season ‌for Missouri⁣ S&T, providing a valuable point in⁤ the Great Lakes Valley Conference standings and a test of⁣ resilience before returning home ‌for a Friday matchup.

Andrei Paley put Missouri S&T on the board first, scoring his initial goal of the season ‌at ⁢the 21:32 mark off ‌a corner ⁤kick. Kentucky​ Wesleyan responded before halftime, leveling ‌the score ⁢at 1-1 with a goal at 39:11.

The ⁤Miners regained the‍ lead quickly in⁣ the second half ​as Luiz⁤ Bernis ‌netted his first goal of the year within the ‍first three‍ minutes of play. ⁢However, the Panthers once ‌again ​found ​the equalizer, tying the game ​at 2-2 at the ⁣58:15 mark, a ‍score that would hold through the remainder of ​regulation ⁢and‌ overtime.
