Anvisa Bans Sale of 32 Dietary Supplements Due to Unsanitary Manufacturing Conditions
BRASÍLIA - Brazil’s National Health surveillance Agency (Anvisa) has prohibited teh sale of 32 dietary supplements manufactured by ERRUS BRASILLIS PRODUCTS NATURES LTDA, the agency announced Friday, October 5th, in a publication in the Federal Official Gazette.
The ban follows a health inspection of the company’s manufacturing facility, where agents discovered the supplements were being produced without a proper health license, under unsanitary conditions, and failing to adhere to good manufacturing practices for food products.
The prohibited products include a range of supplements, such as creatine, collagen, omega-3, Peruvian maca, and products containing tadalafil. Anvisa has ordered the seizure of all lots of the company’s products and prohibited their commercialization, distribution, manufacture, import, and advertising, citing Article 46 of Decree-Law 986/1969.
Attempts to reach Herbs Brasillis Products Natural Ltda. for comment were unsuccessful as of publication.
