Delhaize to Revitalize Former cora Sites with Seven New Supermarkets Across Belgium
Brussels, Belgium – Delhaize announced today a notable expansion plan, unveiling the opening of seven new supermarkets across Belgium slated for 2026. The initiative includes the redevelopment of former Cora locations in Anderlecht and Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe, marking a key step in the supermarket chain’s ongoing franchise strategy.
According to Delhaize spokesperson Roel Dekelver, the new stores will each span approximately 2,000 square meters and will incorporate dedicated collection points for online order fulfillment – a “collect” service designed to cater to the growing demand for online grocery shopping.
Beyond the Brussels locations, Delhaize will also establish new stores in La Louvière, Châtelineau, hornu, Rocourt, and Messancy.The Hornu location represents a relocation of the existing Delhaize store within the municipality.
