Bielefeld Launches Workshops to Shape Future of Local Sport
| Bielefeld (bi)
The City of Bielefeld is inviting residents, clubs, and experts to participate in a series of workshops aimed at developing a long-term plan for the future of sport in the city. Following initial consultations with local sports clubs and the public, the city is now seeking concrete recommendations for action to guide political and administrative decisions in the coming years.
“Sport is a vital part of life in Bielefeld,” says Birgit Beckermann, head of school, citizens of culture and sport. ”To ensure its lasting growth, we need open dialog with those involved. These workshops are designed to do just that – to collaboratively develop solutions.”
The workshop series will focus on four key areas. The first workshop, on October 7th from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, will address ”Volunteering in Sport,” exploring ways to attract and retain volunteers. the second, on october 28th simultaneously occurring, will focus on “Sport and Movement in Public Space,” discussing improvements and new opportunities for utilizing public areas for physical activity. Future workshops will cover sports facility infrastructure needs and innovative facility management strategies.
All Bielefeld citizens, club representatives, and interested parties are encouraged to participate and share their insights. Registration is required online at www.bielefeld.de/sportentwicklung, where further information about the sports development planning process can also be found. The city of Bielefeld looks forward to a productive dialogue and a strong, sustainable future for sport in the city.
