Port-Louis Residents rally for Cancer league with Races and Garage Sales
port-Louis, Morbihan – A community-wide effort in Port-Louis raised funds for the League Against Cancer this weekend, combining a spirited ”coffee race” with a bustling town-wide garage sale. Organizers aimed to surpass last year’s total of €1,200,drawing participation from local teams and residents eager to contribute to the cause.
The annual “Course des Garçons de Café” (Coffee Boys Race) saw twelve teams of four compete while carrying trays with full glasses of coffee, navigating the town streets in a relay. Each team contributed a €10 entry fee,and attendees supported the fundraiser by purchasing raffle tickets for €1 each and refreshments.Simultaneously, approximately sixty Port-Louis households opened their doors for a large-scale garage sale, transforming the town into a treasure hunt for bargain seekers.
Local residents Claudine and jean-Pierre, of Rue de la Citadelle, were among those participating in the garage sale, welcoming visitors throughout the day. The event builds on a tradition of community support for the League Against Cancer, providing vital funding for research and patient care programs across France.further details on the 2024 edition of the race can be found here.
