Caring for Carter Golf Tournament Raises Funds for CTNNB1 Research

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – A golf tournament held saturday at Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls drew over 100 participants and raised funds for research‌ into CTNNB1 Syndrome, ‍a rare genetic disorder affecting⁤ the Garretson family’s son, ⁤Carter Dreckman.

The “Caring for Carter Golf ‍Tournament” saw 30 teams compete while boosting awareness and financial support for finding treatments ⁤for the ‌condition. CTNNB1 Syndrome is exceptionally rare, with approximately 500 confirmed cases worldwide.

“It means the world.we can’t‍ thank these guys enough.We’ve got all of these people that are⁢ going too raise some good⁢ money, hopefully find a ‍cure for Carter. That’s the ultimate goal, and that sounds like a⁣ promising future. So, hopefully we can accomplish that,” said Carter’s father, Luke ⁣Dreckman.The Dreckmans shared that clinical trials for molecule development are anticipated to begin within the⁢ next twelve months,⁢ signaling potential advancements⁣ toward a cure.
