RIVERSTOWN, CORK – Sarsfields secured their place in the semi-finals following a captivating and closely contested match against Glen Rovers, finishing with a scoreline of 2-18 to 2-16. The match began with an exchange of frees between Colm McCarthy of Sarsfields and Patrick Horgan of Glen Rovers. Horgan had an opportunity to put Glen Rovers ahead with a goal, but a brilliant save from Ben Graham denied the attempt, along with Kennefick’s subsequent follow-up. Horgan converted the resulting 65, bringing the score to 2-12 to 1-14. Sarsfields responded with points from D Hogan and james Sweeney, before Lee Quilligan, recently substituted, was fouled, leading to a triumphant penalty from Horgan, leveling the score at 2-14.
