Vilnius Celebrates City Day with Hyperbolė Concert in Cathedral Square

Thousands gathered in Vilnius’s Cathedral square on Saturday evening for a special concert featuring Lithuanian rock legend Hyperbolė, led by founder Viktoras Prapras. The performance was a highlight of the Vilnius Day festival, a weekend-long celebration of the city’s cultural vibrancy and community spirit.

The Vilnius Day festival, traditionally held during the first weekend of September, aims to showcase the city’s evolving identity and offer a diverse range of activities for both residents and visitors. This year’s program included music and light shows, creative workshops, art exhibitions, sporting events, and presentations of ethnic cultures, transforming key Vilnius spaces – including Gediminas Avenue, Lukiškės Square, and the Neris embankment – into hubs of activity.”The weekend program, I believe, surprised not only the guests of the city, but also the real Vilnius residents – I invite everyone to experience the true spirit of the capital at concerts, fairs, cultural and sporting events,” said Vilnius Mayor Valdas Benkunskas.

The festival’s program sought to reveal the city’s cultural heritage, encourage community engagement, and provide entertainment for all attendees. Hyperbolė’s performance drew a large crowd eager to hear the band’s iconic hits.
