Live Coverage: Week 1 of Massachusetts High School Football Kicks Off
FOXBOROUGH, MA – The 2024 Massachusetts high school football season launched Friday evening with a slate of contests across the state, marking the beginning of a new campaign filled with promise and rivalry. From the AA League to self-reliant matchups,teams took to the field for the first time,setting the stage for weeks of competition culminating in playoff contention.
This opening week provides a crucial first look at team strengths, player development, and coaching strategies as schools vie for league dominance and postseason berths. The results of these early games will heavily influence seeding and momentum as the season progresses, impacting not only the players and coaches but also the passionate fan bases that support high school football throughout Massachusetts.
AA LEAGUE
Springfield Central High School faced off against St. John’s Prep at 6pm. East Longmeadow High School battled Foxborough High School at 7pm, while Taconic High School took on West Springfield High School, also at 7pm. Minnechaug Regional High School competed against Barnstable High School at 7pm.

Framingham High School played Wellesley High School at 6pm,and Newton North High school met Natick High School at the same time.

Weymouth High School played Braintree High School at 6pm. Walpole High School competed against King Philip Regional High School at 7pm, and Needham High School faced Milton High School at 7pm.

La Salle Academy played Boston College High School at 6pm. Xaverian competed against Bishop Feehan High School at 6pm. Nashua South played Malden Catholic High School at 6pm, and Saint John’s High School (shrewsbury) played Leominster high School at 7pm.
