JOHNSON CITY,Tenn. – ETSU men’s golf begins its 2025-26 season at the visit Knoxville Collegiate, starting Friday, September 6. the tournament, played at the par-70, 7,201-yard Holston Hills Country Club, marks the start of the Bucs’ campaign to build upon a prosperous 2024-25 season.
ETSU is aiming to continue its dominance after securing its fifth consecutive Southern Conference Tournament title last season, the first under head coach Jake O’Callaghan. The team will look to replicate its postseason success, following a ninth-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Reno Regional. The Visit Knoxville Collegiate provides an early test for a roster featuring returning talent recognized for both athletic and academic achievement.
Last year at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate, ETSU finished 13th out of 16 teams with a 36-over-par 876. Alum Kristian Bressum led the bucs, finishing 18th overall at one under par, while Joshua Pritchett was the next top finisher at 52nd overall with a score of 217 (+7).
Bressum, along with teammates Yannick Malik and Pritchett, were honored as Cobalt Golf Academic All-Americans following the 2024-25 season. Bressum also earned SoCon Player of the Year honors and finished 21st overall at the Reno Regional (218, +7) after a fifth-place showing at the SoCon Championship (209, -7). Malik was the top finisher for ETSU at the SoCon Championships, finishing second overall with a score of 207 (-9), and previously recorded a career-best round of 61 (-11) at The Virginian.
