Fox Medical Comedy ‘Best Medicine‘ Adds Didi conn, Clea Lewis & 6 More to Cast
Fox Entertainment has expanded the cast of its upcoming one-hour comedy series, Best Medicine, with eight recurring guest stars: Didi Conn (Grease), Clea Lewis (American Rust), stephen Spinella (Royal Pains), Jason Veasey (Only Murders in the Building), John DiMaggio (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts), Carter Shimp (The Holdovers), Cindy De La Cruz (Blue Bloods), and canine actor Wattson.
The series stars Josh Charles as Martin Best, a brilliant surgeon who abandons his Boston career to practice as a general practitioner in a small East Coast fishing village.The show centers on Martin’s struggles to adjust to small-town life and his patients’ eccentricities, despite his own hidden phobias and psychological issues.
Conn will portray councilwoman Geneva Potter, Lewis will play Pharmacist Sally Mylow, Spinella is Greg Garrison, co-proprietor of the Salty Breeze, and Veasey will play George Brady, also a co-proprietor of The Salty breeze. DiMaggio is cast as Handyman Bert Large, Shimp as Bert’s son, Al Large, De La Cruz as Schoolteacher Jeannie, and Wattson as Copernicus.
Best Medicine is a production of Fox entertainment Studios, with Ben Silverman, Rodney Ferrell, Howard T. Owens, Liz Tuccillo, Mark Crowdy, and Philippa Braithwaite serving as executive producers. Fox Entertainment Global will distribute the series worldwide. The series is inspired by the UK’s Doc Martin, produced by Buffalo Pictures and Homerun Film Productions, and brought to American audiences by Propagate Content.
