OPTA Analysis Projects Limited European Runs for Czech Clubs
Prague, Czech Republic – data analysis firm OPTA forecasts a challenging European season for Czech football clubs, predicting only one-Slavia Prague-has a realistic chance of advancing beyond the group stages of their respective competitions. The assessment, released Wednesday, casts a shadow over the prospects of Sparta Prague, Viktoria Plzeň, and Sigma Olomouc as they embark on their continental campaigns.
The projections, based on detailed performance metrics and statistical modeling, indicate Slavia Prague possesses the strongest likelihood of progression in the Champions League. Conversely, OPTA estimates a greater than 64 percent probability that Sigma Olomouc will be eliminated after the conference League’s main phase, anticipating a point haul of 5-6. This leaves Viktoria Plzeň and sparta Prague facing uphill battles in the Europa League, with their chances of advancement deemed considerably lower.
According to OPTA’s data, Sigma Olomouc’s group stage schedule begins with an away fixture against Fiorentina, followed by a home match versus Aprilów, a trip to Noah in Yerevan, and a return to olomouc to face their cells. They will then play Lincoln away and conclude the group with a home game against Lech Poznan. The analytical society estimates Sigma’s chances of qualifying for the knockout stages at approximately one-third.
