Joliet Surgeon dr.Brian Winkleman Joins Morris Hospital, Expanding Surgical Services
MORRIS, IL – September 2, 2025 – After 16 years of practice in the Joliet area, board-certified General and Minimally Invasive Surgeon Dr. Brian Winkleman has joined the medical staff at morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers.Dr. Winkleman is now accepting patients at the Channahon Healthcare Center, located at 25259 reed Street, Channahon, and is performing all surgeries and procedures exclusively at Morris Hospital.
Dr. Winkleman received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed both a residency in general surgery and a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, OH. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
His practice focuses on a range of laparoscopic and robotic procedures,including gallbladder removal,hernia repair,small bowel and colon surgery,appendectomies,and the excision of skin lesions and soft tissue tumors. He also performs upper endoscopy and colonoscopy.
The arrival of Dr. Winkleman coincides with Morris Hospital’s recent $13.2 million renovation of its perioperative services, completed in early 2023. The upgrades include state-of-the-art operating rooms, two new endoscopy rooms, a dedicated minor procedure room, five additional same-day surgery rooms, and enhanced amenities for patients and their families.
