Barcelona Newcomer Bardghji Expresses Disappointment Over National Team Snub
Barcelona, Spain – Roony Bardghji, the 19-year-old Swedish forward who recently transferred from FC Copenhagen to FC Barcelona this summer, has voiced his surprise and disappointment at being left off the Swedish national team roster for upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
bardghji made a strong first impression during barcelona’s preseason, scoring on his debut and earning important playing time. He openly admitted he anticipated a call-up to the senior squad, stating, ”I should not lie, I actually thought so.”
“Ever since I moved to Barcelona I thought that now… I think it whent well in the preseason. I played many minutes and scored the first match. I have shown up well. I thought would be the A-national team,” Bardghji explained.
Instead, the young talent will focus on representing Sweden‘s U21 team in their European Championship qualifier against Armenia and Montenegro. He acknowledged the final decision rests with national team captain Jon Dahl Tomasson, saying, “it’s up to him… and he decides. It’s no more than that.”
Recent reports suggested Bardghji might initially be registered with Barcelona’s reserve team due to financial constraints. Though, the player firmly dismissed these claims. “It’s something you’ve found. There is nothing that is right. I don’t think I would have gone to Barcelona if it had become the B team,” he stated.
Bardghji did confirm that his registration with the club had been a protracted process but is now nearing completion, possibly making him eligible for selection in Barcelona’s next La liga match on september 14th. “Yes, of course. I think everything is clear until then, we’ll see,” he added.
